Winter Carnival Day Set for Sunday, February 24, 2013
Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA – The base of Shawnee Mountain will come alive on Sunday, February 24 with a festive carnival atmosphere and a fun day for Skiers, Snowboarders, Snow Tubers and Spectators.
Special Olympics Pennsylvania Winter Games Set for February 10 – 12, 2013 at Hidden Valley Resort
More than 300 athletes and 135 coaches will travel to the 2013 Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) Winter Games in Johnstown, PA from February 10-12th. This statewide competition is returning to the Johnstown area for the 12th consecutive year and will feature competition in alpine and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and figureand speed skating. Presenting sponsor Lee Initiatives, Inc.; Sheetz, GEICO; UPMC; The Palumbo Charitable Trust; and The Jack Buncher Foundation are the premier sponsors of this year’s event.
Lift Of Love Coming To Bear Creek On Valentine’s Day
MACUNGIE, PA. - Calling all singles! Bear Creek will be hosting ‘ski’dating on Thursday February 14, 2013. ‘Ski’dating, similar to speed dating, will take place on the Lift of Love from 7-10pm. Evening lift tickets will be just $14 for all participants. Singles will be randomly paired upon boarding the lift. Participants will have seven minutes to get to know each other while riding to the top of the mountain. Once at the top of the mountain, ‘ski’daters will decide if they want to ski together or take another ride on the lift.
Camelback Mountain Turns Pink
It is hard to find someone that has not been touched by breast cancer in some way. At Camelback Mountain Resort, we feel the same and therefore have partnered with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) to help educate our staff and guests on the importance of an active lifestyle and early detection. To celebrate with survivors and friends, Camelback has planned a full day of fun events on Saturday, February 9th, 2013.
