Shawnee on Delaware, PA – Thanks to aggressive snowmaking and several inches of natural snow earlier this week, Shawnee Mountain will be open for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing this coming weekend from 9am to 5pm both Saturday and Sunday.
Open terrain will be limited to the Little Chief Beginner’s Slope. One double chairlift will be operating. Lift ticket prices will be reduced to half price ($20 youth and $27.50 adult). Ski and snowboard rentals, lessons and discounted beginner’s packages will all be available.
Shawnee’s Pocono Plunge Snow Tubing Park will also be open both days with 2 chutes and a carpet lift open for 2 and 4 hour sessions. Cost is $25 for 2 hours and $40 for 4 hours.
After the opening weekend Shawnee Mountain will be closed midweek (Monday through Friday) and plans to reopen on Saturday December 8 for the season. Snowmaking operations will continue on Shawnee Mountain nightly as temperatures permit. Updated Shawnee snow reports are available online at www.shawneemt.com or by calling 800-233-4218
