The base facilities are all new. The new 57,000 square foot base lodge features all guest services, a new daycare center, a new ski school facility and a new children's learning center, along with all-new food service and The Grille at Bear Creek. The centerpiece of the new base facilities is The Inn at Bear Creek, a 53-room hotel with an adjacent 6640 square foot banquet hall. Topping off the new construction is a 7400 square foot rental shop, just steps away from the lodge and ticket windows.

The Valley Lodge at the base of the mountain offers all services including, tickets, rentals, a retail shop, a cafeteria and seating area. You'll also find the Valley School East and Valley School West just outside for ski and snowboard lessons. The Summit Lodge, which features wonderful views of the Poconos, is also a full service lodge which includes Last Run Lounge, a great place to stop in for a quick break or for après ski.

A well-developed base area complete with a clock tower and three day lodges offers all services and amenities. There's a day lodge at the summit as well. Just across the road from the mountain is the Chateau Resort and Conference Center, a full-fledged resort hotel. This being the Poconos you'll have no trouble finding lodging or restaurants.

Or, visit the Masthope Marketplace if a deli-style sandwich is what you crave. The Summit bar provides après ski libations and a relaxed social environment. Visit the arcade if you need a moment to warm up inside.

All guest services, information, the children's learning center and ski school, as well as food and retail are conveniently located in a cluster of attractive buildings at the base of the beginner terrain. The tubing operation lower down the mountain but handy has its own lodge.

The "base" area facilities include a day lodge, a cafeteria and lounge, guest services and everything else you would expect. Just don't plan to have lunch at the actual base of the mountain. Sno Mountain is just a few miles away from downtown Scranton, a city of almost 77,000 people, so you will find plenty in the way of dining, lodging, entertainment, and cultural events.
