FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 9, 2021 MOUNT PLEASANT OF EDINBORO OPEN FOR THE SUMMER
Edinboro, PA– Mount Pleasant is pleased to announce that we are now open for a variety of summer activities including a network of hiking and biking trails over 6 miles long. Other Summer activities include trail running, picnicking, dog walking, and nature watching.
The trail network is composed of both single-track mountain bike trail and wide walking trails. The signature portion is a 6-mile bike loop that consists of seven trail sections that can be ridden in either direction. The trail network is organized so that different single-track trial sections can be ridden in different orders and directions which create an abundance of choices for riders. The trails generally range from intermediate to advanced. New upgrades this year included berms, log rides, skinnies and drops. An additional mile of trail is also under construction.
We have more than 6 miles of hiking, not including the ski slopes, which are also open for hiking. Hikers and bikers alike can enjoy the challenge of going directly up the ski slope or enjoy a system of switch backs to get to the top. Once at the top of the mountain, a large series of paths with sloping terrain await. Wildlife is abundant along the trail network and it is common to see our resident pair of nesting eagles.
To access the trail network, patrons are asked to purchase a Summer Access Pass. The Summer Access Pass will allow patrons to enjoy Mount Pleasant all summer long. The Summer Access Pass is $25 and is available on our website at www.skimountpleasant.com along with rules and regulations. The summer season starts when the snow melts and the hill dries out and goes until October 31st when we begin preparing to make snow! The hill is open from dawn to dusk daily. All proceeds from the Summer Access Passes are reinvested back into our trail network. If you want to try our trail network, you may make a donation for a one day use in the Blue Box outside the main lodge door.
In addition to our summer trails, Mount Pleasant is always thinking towards improving our winter experience. This offseason, our focus will be increasing our snowmaking, continued outdoor infrastructure and lodge enhancements.
