CAMELBACK RESORT CELEBRATES THE RETURN OF SNOW

TANNERSVILLE, Penn. – The 2021-2022 winter season officially starts this December at Camelback Resortrecently cited as one of the “Best Ski Resorts in the U.S. and Canada” in Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. Set within the picturesque Pocono Mountains, this year’s snow sports line up offers something for everyone from the youngest of snow enthusiasts to grandparents who wish to experience a multigenerational memory with family. Traditional activities have been updated, multi-day lift tickets options have been added and new exciting high tech virtual reality adventures await at Aquatopia. A year-round adventure land that rises to 2,100 feet above sea level, snow enthusiasts, boarders and avid skiers of all levels will find Camelback Mountain is the perfect getaway for locals and destination fun-seekers, and it’s only 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia.
 
“This year’s winter season may be our best yet,” said Shawn Hauver, managing director of the 560-acre resort. “We have so many new adventures and dining options in store this year. We are especially excited for the new VR water slide at Aquatopia. We predict it will be a huge hit with kids and their adventure seeking families and friends. And of course, health and safety will always remain a top priority for our staff and guests with briefings and inspections of our facilities daily.”
 
Multiple Ticket Options Available
To accommodate those who want to visit for the day or return multiple times throughout the season, there is a ticket package for all. One-day lift tickets start at $62 and vary on demand. The new Triple Ticket Pass is $139, and the Super Season Pass for $629 includes unlimited day and night skiing; complimentary snow tubing; first tracks access; general parking; an equipment check; and 10% savings on accommodations and dining. A Value Season Pass for $399 offers access from open to close daily and weekends from 3 p.m. to close and includes general parking  and an equipment check. Both passes include savings for Aquatopia Indoor Water Park.
A new Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) system offers a hands-free, streamlined and efficient lift access. Season pass and lift ticket holders can reload their pass online and go directly to the lift.
 
Camelback’s Snowtubing Park
Boasting one of the country’s largest snowtubing park, the all-lit nighttime after-dark experience, Galactic tubing, is back and just as exhilarating. It’s a tubing party slope side complete with music, disco lighting, up to 44 lightning-fast lanes and two magic carpet lifts. For those who work up an appetite is a Meatball Mayhem food truck hitched to a Tap Bar beverage trailer serving soups, sandwiches and beer on draft to be enjoyed around fire pits for tube watching or warming up.
Snowtubing starts at $33 midweek; $42 weekends (two-hour session).
 
Camelback Ski School
Excellent ski and snowboard instruction continues at Camelback Resort at its Ski & Ride Academy for learners starting at age four and levels from beginner to advanced. Children’s Lessons for ages four to 12 will begin at Adventure Base Camp and run for 1.5 hours. During the Family & Friends Beginner Lessons, beginner skiers aged four and up will head to The Learning Center for one hour of lessons on the snow. Also available are private lessons for beginners through advanced skiers. Ski rentals are included in both the Children’s Lessons and Family & Friends Beginner Lessons.
60-minute Family & Friends Beginner Lessons are $209; 90-minute private lessons start at $175.
 
Ski-in/Ski-out at Camelback Lodge  
The only ski-in/ski-out resort in the Poconos, Camelback Lodge offers 453 luxury guest suites with 21layouts to suit couples, families and groups, along with an array of dining choices (including ski-in/ski-out restaurants), USA Today’s #1 waterpark Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, the much-loved Arcadia Arcade and Arcadia Adventures, and seasonal and souvenir shopping.
Rates start at $210 per night; ski, snowboard and snowtubing adventures can be added to any lodge stay at up to a 45% discount.
 
New Virtual Reality Water Slide Adventure at Aquatopia
For an I-can’t-believe-my-eyes moment, Aquatopia’s new virtual reality experience will have sliders enthusiastically returning to the top of the slide over and over again for a new interactive over-the-top virtual adventure each time. Taking water slides to the next level, sliders wear a headset and then thrown into a thrilling reality combining the latest VR technology with exciting lights and music all happening on a traditional, exciting waterslide.
 
Food for Famished Fun Seekers

Exclusively for Camelback Resort’s hungry skiers and snowboarders, Summit House is a ski-in/ski-out only restaurant offering breathtaking views serving classic Philly cheesesteaks, oysters on the half, Bavarian-style hot pretzels, along with a variety of German beers. New this year is Big Pocono Food Hall featuring a collection of various grab-and-go offerings. Other delicious dining options include the recently renovated Thirsty Camel Bar & Grille, an indoor/outdoor restaurant featuring local breweries and pub-style menu; Tacos & Beer Truck, offering street tacos and draft; and Meatball Mayhem & Tap Bar, a draft beverage trailer, for meatball sandwiches, bread bowl chili and chowder along with beers and wines on tap, cocktails and hot beverages.

At Berrelli’s Italian Chophouse, this new Italian steakhouse features an extensive wine list in a fine-dining ambiance and a downstairs speakeasy-vibe game room for playing pool, darts and shuffleboard.

Camelback Lodge houses the new Café & Bar La Columbe a brasserie-style restaurant with coffee, pastries, sandwiches and salads to-go; Hemispheres, a family friendly breakfast buffet eatery; Trails End Pub & Grille, a ski-in/ski-out American brew pub open daily; Graffiti Pizza, a New York graffiti-themed pizza spot; and Oasis, the Poconos’ most unique indoor pool and swim-up bar reserved for guests 21 or older.

 
The Arcade Introduces New Interactive Games
The two-level arcade has been updated with new fun attractions including a mirror maze and a new western-outlaw escape room where the infamous Jesse James has been injured – gunshot of course – so participants have to attempt to break open a bank vault without his obvious expertise and haul away its contents before the sheriff arrives. 
 
Another new and innovative arcade attraction simulates the popular sport of axe throwing, and VR Rabbids is a virtual reality game simulating a twisting, turning, thrilling and spilling rollercoaster.
