Blue Mountain Resort Announces End of 2017-2018 Season
End the season with a Splash at the annual Pond Skim event this weekend!
Palmerton, Pennsylvania (4 April 2018) – Blue Mountain Resort plans to end their 2017-2018 winter season this Sunday, April 8th, with their annual Pond Skim Event. Guests are invited to end the year with a splash taking part in an annual tradition among ski resorts across the country. The event signifies the end of a winter season but also the start of a summer season!
Trails will be closing for the skiing and riding season on Sunday, April 8th, but not before some big-time celebrations take place! Even though the Resort decided to close this week because of weather and to preserve the slopes' conditions, they'll be reopening their doors on Saturday, April 7th at 8:00am until 10pm. The Resort will also be open on Sunday, April 8th from 8am – 4pm. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, 8-hour tickets will be available this weekend for $40. Guests can purchase tickets online or at a ticket window.
Guests are also invited to end the season with a splash on Sunday, April 8th at the annual Pond Skim event , sponsored by Shea's Hardware in Palmerton ! Participants who skim across the pond located on the Vista Trail will win a free t-shirt! Registration is free but requires a lift ticket to participate. Guests can register from 9am – 11am in the Alpine Room, with skimming starting promptly at 12pm. Spectators do not require tickets and are encouraged and will be able to walk out onto the Vista Trail where the event will take place. Pond Skim may signify the end of a great 40th anniversary winter at Blue Mountain Resort, but it's also the start of an exciting summer season. The Resort will be offering some new and exciting features and outdoor activities for this summer. The season kicks off with Bark Bash on Saturday, May 5th . A free festival for all ages, guests are encouraged to bring their best furry friend and enjoy live music, great food, and even more fun. Local rescues will be in attendance for those who are looking for their new best furry friend!
In addition to the exciting summer festival lineup , Blue Mountain Resort offers downhill mountain biking , an expanded high ropes course in the Summit , outdoor laser tag , Action Archery , adventure camp for kids ages 8-14 , and more! All outdoor adventure activities will start on Saturday, May 19th.
Slopeside Pub & Grill is also open year-round, seven days a week with live music, outdoor yard games, delicious food, and incredible views of the Poconos. Slopeside Pub & Grill will be launching their new summer menu on April 16th, featuring dishes made from locally-sourced produce and ingredients. There will also be a variety of events and happenings throughout the summer such as Theme Nights, Trivia Tuesdays, and Patio Party Thursdays.
