Pennsylvania’s Ski Resorts spice up the FUN this Fall with pumpkin festivals, hearty brews, races, and scary mountain thrills!

White Haven, PA – Sept. 23, 2019 – Leaf peepers looking for a quick weekend getaway, can find a variety of recreational offerings this season at one of Pennsylvania’s 21 Ski Resorts. Families can enjoy pleasing temperatures, eye-popping color and some of the region’s best fall festivals. The Pennsylvania’s Ski Areas Association (SkiPA) has announced a full line-up of events from traditional harvest celebrations featuring German food, fun and brews to haunted mountain adventures and even a few races for those looking to get in shape for the upcoming ski season.

Blue Mountain Resort, Palmerton
Saturday, September 28 through Sunday, September 29, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Carbon County Oktoberfest at Blue Mountain Resort
Head to Blue Mountain for a mountain-style Oktoberfest celebration including scenic chairlifts, live music, keg rolling, authentic German food & beer, crafters, artisan vendors and more. There are many events for kids, too, including tractor rides, pumpkin picking, face painting, pumpkin painting and bracelet making. Event is pet-friendly. Admission is Free. The Fall Wine Festival presented by The High Bridge House at Montage Mountain is the area’s biggest and best wine sampling event featuring wine from 15 Pennsylvania Wineries, food and shopping vendors, live music and more. Blue Burn Trail Challenge & One Mile Kid’s Fun Run
Blue Burn Course invites runners to experience the Blue Burn Trail Challenge. Conquer the mountain with 4.5 miles of technical trails, grassy flats and climbs that take you to the top of Blue Mountain’s steepest trail. There will also be a kid’s one-mile fun run. Spring Mountain transforms into a haunted adventure in October. Those looking to get their spook can enjoy a haunted hayride, haunted lift ride and walk or a full heart of darkness tour, which includes seven zip lines, four challenges, two rappels and a cargo net climb after dark. Country Jam Music and Fall Festival
Kick off the fall season at Bear Creek Mountain Resort with an afternoon of fun for all ages including live music from five bands, a farmer’s market, beer garden, petting zoo, pick your own pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, moon bounce, ATV tours, archery target shooting, ax throwing and climbing wall. Also enjoy a country cookout featuring a pig roast, barbeque chicken and more. The first 500 pre-purchased adult tickets will receive a 16-oz Country Jam mason jar mug. Seven Springs Resort, Seven Springs

Marathon on the Mountain
A unique marathon event in the beautiful Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Marathon on the Mountain will both challenge and inspire participants while they run through the beautiful mountain terrain at Seven Springs Mountain Resort on Saturday, October 26. Runners can choose the distance that fits their skill level including a marathon, half marathon or 5K. The race route features multiple ponds, charming country lanes and some of the most scenic woods in Pennsylvania. The courses utilize both ski trails and wooded hiking and biking paths deep into the forest. Minimal hard surfaces and very few road crossings are on the course, and multiple aid stations with water, Gatorade and fruit will be served. The marathon will make two laps of the picturesque course that starts and ends in front of the Foggy Goggle at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, male and female in each race. All racers will receive a tech shirt as well as a finisher medal upon completion.
