The Ski Scoop for Winter 2021-2022
Just 76 miles from Philadelphia and 103 from New York City, Blue Mountain Resort is known for having some of the best skiing and snowboarding terrain in Pennsylvania, along with the state’s highest vertical. And with its recent significant investments in snowmaking with 100% capability – Blue Mountain Resort has one of the largest snowmaking systems on the East Coast. The seven-acre trail will be named very soon and is accessible by the Comet Quad Chairlift that connects into the mountain’s Paradise trail. Across 171 skiable acres, Blue Mountain has some of the longest trails in the state – 40 – including 14 beginner, six intermediate, 11 expert, four expert only and five terrain parks. There are 16 lifts to accommodate skiers to ensure speedy transportation up and down the trails. Fully lit night skiing trails are open until 9 p.m., and skiing hours on weekdays start at 9 a.m. and at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and specified winter holidays.
Lift tickets must be purchased online and are sold for four-hour or eight-hour sessions. Discount ski passes are available for children under five, seniors over 70 and for military/first responders.

The resort has expanded its snow tubing park from 24 to 46 lanes, making it the largest snow tubing park in the country. Each lane is over 1,000 feet long, and a third carpet lift for tubing fun is being added. The park is serviced by three lifts, and tubers can choose between a single or double tubes to enjoy the sport with a friend, maybe for some friendly competition.

Beginner Ski and Snowboard Lessons for Family and Friends at the Learning Center
Blue Mountain Resort created an award-winning Learning Center and developed Family & Friends Beginner Lessons to keep groups of skiers and snowboarders together regardless of age or ability. The Beginner Lessons are geared to snow enthusiasts who are three years and older with at least one person in the lesson group being 13-plus to accompany the younger children. This lesson is for first timers and beginners who choose either a ski or snowboard lesson and the beginner lift ticket is included, which allows participants to practice on the valley carpets and use the Valley Triple and Vista chairlifts. Ski or snowboard equipment rental is also included with the lesson. The lesson length is at least one hour on the snow.
Lessons are purchased online, and space is limited. Purchase in advance is highly recommended and is discounted at $179 for first person pricing and $129 for each additional person.
