BLUE MOUNTAIN EMBARKS ON 2022-2023 SKI SEASON WITH NEW HIGH-SPEED, SIX-PERSON CHAIRLIFT
Poconos Mountain Ski Resort Announces 45th Annual Ski Season
PALMERTON, Penn. – As temperatures drop, anticipation is growing for the upcoming ski season, with Blue Mountain Resort gearing up for 2022-2023 powder sessions with multiple upgrades, including a new high-speed six-person lift, snowmaking upgrades and new nighttime snow tubing experience.

Just a short drive from both Philadelphia and New York City and home to Pennsylvania's highest vertical at 1,082 feet in the Pocono Mountains, Blue Mountain features varied and challenging terrain as well as some of the longest runs in the state. Spanning 171 skiable acres, Blue Mountain’s 40 trails include 14 beginner, six intermediate, 11 expert, four expert only and five terrain parks.

As the resort enters its 45th ski season, these latest upgrades will make snow sports here even more appealing and include:

A new lift, named the Main Street Express, which replaces two double lifts and dramatically improves access to the terrain on the western part of the mountain – as well connectivity between Valley Lodge and Summit Lodge. The new high-speed lift will transport riders from bottom to top in under five minutes and accommodate 3,000 guests per hour.
  • New all-lit nighttime, after-dark Sonic Tubing with music and disco lighting. With 46 lanes, Blue Mountain is the largest snowtubing park in the country. Each lane is over 1,000 feet long. The tubing park is serviced by three lifts, and tubers can choose between single or double tubes.
  • Enhanced automation of the snowmaking system, including new snowmaking guns and LED lighting to make night skiing available on the 40th trail, which opened last season. With these recent investments, Blue Mountain now has one of the largest snowmaking systems in the country.
  • A renamed trail, Curzi's Cabin (previously Widow Maker) serviced by the new Main Street Express lift.
  • A renamed terrain run, Trails End, (previously Terrain Run) serviced by all major lifts.

Additionally, Blue Mountain Resort has unveiled a fresh new tri-colored logo in time for the new ski season. The updated logo combines earthly elements – sun, mountains and terrain – resulting in a contemporary look with traditional nuances, positioning the property as a year-round retreat for both adventure enthusiasts and novices.
Other highlights of the 2022-23 season include:
